We did nothing at all out of the ordinary except watch the end of the World Cup. My husband is quite upset. Says he, the conoisseur of baloney, France needed a center-forward. I think maybe France needed twelve players and definitely attitude adjustment. I have watched the World Cup for ever and never saw a top player headbutt another player in a World Cup match.
But, oh, the French, and don't get me started on my favorite topic, the faults found in the French, from bulbous noses, to deceit in the name of politesse, well, you saw politesse this past Sunday, correcto? They don't get it. The Marseillaise may have worked in 1998. I guess the Italians preferred O Sole Mio.
Sometime today, after I do get some sleep, I would like to try an exercise on Nelson Rodrigues and the different areas of writing in which he showed his brilliance: plays, short commentary on futebol, and short commentary on life, a daily named Such is Life
Oh, I did find more of Chico Buarque and of Edu Lobo on iTunes. There are absurd gaps in their catalogue. I want to study the music they offer and then make recommendations to Brazilian music fans. I am not sure you are aware the Mutantes will be performing sans Rita Lee in NYC, Portland, Seattle, the Hollywood Bowl, and very likely Miami. All dates are towards the end of July, 2006.
In the meantime, Rita Lee Jones releases a book in São Paulo. Maybe the Fiery Furnaces would like to meet Rita and the boys in July. The Mutantes were quite a music event when performing with Caetano Veloso or Gilberto Gil ( at UCLA in March 2007) with their contagious youth, outrageous costumes and creativity. iTunes does have two albums by the Mutantes and a compilation of Rita Lee's solo work.
Maybe see you later today, maybe tomorrow... I can't get over how sad my darrrling
is ... It's time to go console him and wrap the bloggy thingy.
P.S. I did read this morning a confirmation of what Brazilian TV commentators had been saying about the incident involving Zidane. It seems an Italian players mocked his ancestry. Zidane is French-Algerian. Thanks for the comment, Seth.

My favorite music is rock, or let's say my other favorite kind of music is rock.
Happy birthday! So don't you wonder what exactly was said that brought about the headbut 'incident'? Amazing the power of language.
